EASTENDERS Mel will shoot her son Hunter after he escapes prison, claims new fan theory.

In upcoming episodes of the BBC One soap Mel finds out the teenager – portrayed by Charlie Winter – is being moved to another prison.

But the move doesn’t go to plan as Hunter escapes, while a concerned makes demands on the police to find him and make sure he is safe.

Fans believe Hunter will indefinitely be returning to Albert Square, and predict an altercation will break out between mother and son, which will leave Hunter fighting for his life.

One fan speculated: “Haha! Mel has a gun in the E20 safe? I smell a plot device for a future storyline… *cough*Hunter*cough*.”

Among all the mayhem Mel reaches out to Gray Atkins, played by Toby-Alexander Smith, for advice, despite being told by the police to compromise while her son is roaming free.

Viewers think Hunter will be in the firing line as it was revealed last month Hunter would be sensationally killed off in explosive plot this Autumn.

The Daily Star Sunday reported Hunter would be murdered shortly after returning to the show in late summer.

A source said: “It’s a big decision to kill off a major character, but producers are confident this will be great telly. Hunter’s death is going to rock Albert Square.

“There will be plenty to keep viewers hooked. Hunter’s final weeks on Albert Square will be anything but dull.”

Hunter’s final scenes and funeral have already been filmed.

But actor Charlie is not the only one to be leaving the soap, as Tamzin is set to follow suit.

Tamzin’s character – who returned to Walford in 2017 after a lengthy break away from screens – will be saying goodbye to the home of the Queen Vic once more in an “explosive final storyline”.

A source said: “Mel is a massive character on the Square so it’s going to be a massive exit.

“You can always expect fireworks where she is involved and this is going to be no different. They’ve started filming the scenes and they will air later this autumn.”
