The Welshman looked destined to leave Madrid this summer after Zidane admitted he wanted to sell Bale in a public attempt to force him out of the club.
A touted lucrative move to China has not materiliased this summer but Zidane has hinted that the forward could still be part of his plans despite rumours they are pursuing unsettled Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar.

Addressing the futures of Bale and James Rodriguez, who has also been heavily linked with a move away, the Real Madrid boss suggested the two could play a significant role this season.
He said: ‘James and Bale are both Real Madrid players and both important members of our squad.
‘We count on all the players that are here – anything can happen until August 31 but now they are players of Real Madrid.

‘And my job as a coach is to count on all the players that are training with us.’
The Spanish press have however been reporting that James is still likely to join city rivals Atletico Madrid before August 31’s transfer deadline.
Madrid kick-off their La Liga campaign with a trip to Celta Vigo on Saturday afternoon.
James Rodriguez, who was on loan at Bayern Munich last season, may also be in Zidane’s plans
