KERRY Katona has headed to boot camp as she vows to move on from ex-husband George Kay’s death for the sake of her children.
The 39-year-old was left shocked and devastated last month by the news of her former spouse’s untimely drug-related death.
Kerry, who has youngest daughter Dylan-Jorge, five, with George, revealed in her latest new! magazine column how she’s trying to focus on the future.
She explained: “Anyone who’s lost a husband – estranged or otherwise – will know it’s a hugely painful time and the feelings of anger and sadness and confusion aren’t lessened just because I hadn’t seen him in a while.
“But life goes on and now it’s time for me to get stronger and move on for the sake of my children and myself… it’s time to get myself out there again and just get back to being Kerry.”
For Kerry, this means heading to boot camp and getting back on track with her diet and exercise regime.
Sharing snaps of her exercising while tagging her @bouncingbackwithkerry, she wrote: “Getting back into training really hurts. Come everyone join me on my weight loss journey,.. my god this hurts xxxx.”
Kerry was also seen being put through her paces at GI Jane Bootcamp, showing off some boxing moves as well as working out with dumb bells.
In recent years Kerry has totally transformed her figure, losing two stone, but earlier this year she admitted she had regained a little weight, but was happy about it.
It’s no surprise exercising took a back seat after George’s shock death on July 6.
The ex-rugby player is believed to have died after “eating a quantity of cocaine” at the Holiday Inn in Runcorn, Cheshire.
Kerry and George began dating in 2012 after meeting as teenagers, and wed in September 2014, five months after she had their daughter Dylan.
Speaking to new! magazine about the recent trauma, the mother-of-five revealed she was in therapy as she tried to cope with his death, saying: “I saw a therapist and she told me to think of something happy, but I just can’t.
“I keep seeing George all over the house.”
The couple, who had a turbulent relationship, split in 2015 and Kerry had also taken out a restraining order against him.
However she was forced to deny saying she was “glad” he had died in an interview a few weeks after his passing.
