JADE Goody’s ex Jeff Brazier has said that her life was made into a “circus” by shamed PR guru Max Clifford, who “did well” off the back of her tragic death.

The 40-year-old presenter has spoken out about the late reality TV star in an emotional new documentary, which marks 10 years since she lost her battle with cervical cancer.

Jeff shares two children with Jade, 16-year-old Bobby and 14-year-old Freddie, with the pair dating between 2002 and 2004.

Speaking out in new Channel 4 series Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain, Jeff has slammed late publicist Max for his treatment of Jade after she was diagnosed with cancer in 2008, at the age of 27.

He says: “He was given a simple brief – make the maximum. And I guess he did that.

“He was taking something that was really personal and just making it into a circus.”

Jeff went on to add: “He did well off it, yes. Did he add to the quality of her life? No. But, again, I just had to take my backseat.”

Jade worked tirelessly throughout her cancer battle in a bid to earn as much money as possible for her children’s future, with the Big Brother star’s mum Jackiey Budden also sharing heartbreaking moments between Jade and her sons in the show.

In the documentary, Jackiey reveals how Jade told Freddie, then five, that she was about to become an angel in their emotional final goodbye.

Jackiey explains: “She’s semi-conscious and Freddie got in bed with her, and went: ‘Mum, are you mummy Jade or mummy angel?’

“Later he said: ‘Nana I’ve been awake all night, I can’t sleep, is she mummy mummy or mummy angel?’

“I said: ‘She’s mummy angel now.’ And he said: ‘Can you tell her goodnight for me?’”.

Jeff previously revealed that Jade had asked him to tell their boys that she had “turned into a star” when she dies.

He was the one to break the news to the children, and he confessed that he didn’t tell them that their mum had died until the evening in a bid to “buy some time”.

Thankfully, this worked in his favour – with Jeff crediting the TV favourite for making the conversation easier.

He told Woman magazine: “I just remember we told them the whole time that mum was going to be a beautiful bright star in the sky, rising up to heaven and she was going to go and do a very important job.”

Waiting until bed time to tell his sons that their mum had lost her cancer battle, Jeff continued: “I thought it was the best time of night, and probably bought myself a little bit of time to be honest.

“And there was one big brilliant bright star out there, which kind of just made it that bit easier… thanks Jade.

“I took them outside, they saw it, they knew themselves: ‘That’s mummy, isn’t it?’”

Jade died in her sleep in the early hours of 22 March 2009, having married Jack Tweed just weeks earlier.

Channel 4 commissioned the documentary in tribute to Jade following the 10 year anniversary of her death earlier this year.

The series will premiere tomorrow night, with her loved ones reflecting on Jade’s final moments as fans get an intimate look into the TV star’s life and devastating passing.

Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain premieres on Wednesday 7th August at 9pm on Channel 4
