EMMERDALE’S Amy Wyatt finally disowned mum Kerry tonight after she lied about the fatal factory blaze to Tracy and the police.
The mother and daughter accidentally caused last week’s fire which ended up killing former co-worker Frank Clayton.
Police are now swarming around the village desperate to find the culprit, and after Kerry was called in for questioning, she found herself in a sticky situation.
As her version of events didn’t add up to the investigating officer, she realised she had to switch the blame and fast, and chose her deceased former co-worker.
She told the police of the last time she saw Frank: “Hee didn’t seem angry, he seemed scared.”
When the officer asked why, she replied: “Because he knew what his daughter was about to walk into, because he’d just been in there and robbed the joint, messed with the security and set the place alight.”
Returning to the village, she grabbed Amy to fill her in, only to see the police arrive at the Woolpack to speak to Frank’s daughter Vanessa.
Assuming it was about what she had said at the police station, Kerry apologised, not realising Tracy had entered the pub.
As she continued to lie to her distraught friend, Kerry said: “I didn’t want to ruin his memory darling.”
But furious with her mother’s behaviour, Amy marched after Tracy, with Kerry in hot pursuit.
As she grabbed her and explained why she had lay the blame on Frank, Amy was having none of it.
She told her mum: “We killed him and now you’re slagging him off?
“What about his family? Tracy is in bits.”
“You reckon you’re doing this for the both of us, but I don’t want any part of it…or you.
“And you reckon you’re not the same mam I knew? Well you’re not because she was half-oblivious but you? You know exactly what you’re doing…you’re disgusting.”
