Fans voted on the features of the jersey and new kit partners Puma have delivered with a classy and retro shirt which is inspired by the club’s history.
The shirt is light blue with white trim around the collar and features no sponsors. Traditional white shorts and white socks accompany the jersey.
The jersey also features gold lettering which reads ‘125 years’ beneath the club crest, while another superb inclusion is a copy of the club’s founding document signed by Joshua Parlby – one of the club’s founding fathers.
The strip will be worn by the Premier League champions at Wembley on Sunday when they face Liverpool in the traditional curtain-raiser of what promises to be another highly competitive season, and you can listen to full commentary of the Community Shield LIVE on talkSPORT.
The announcement of the anniversary kit has gone down well on social media, with dozens of fans proclaiming their love of the design.
Meanwhile, talkSPORT host Adrian Durham has sparked a huge reaction on social media after claiming Man City superstar Sergio Aguero is not one of the best strikers in the Premier League.
“Sergio Aguero is an exceptionally brilliant Premier League goalscorer, but there are flaws to his game and Pep Guardiola has sought to rectify them,” said the Drivetime host.
“He’s not the greatest ever, he’s not the number one, in fact he doesn’t even make my top five.”
PUMA has unveiled the Manchester City 125th year anniversary kit. The commemorative kit will be worn against Liverpool in this Sunday’s Community Shield at Wembley. On sale from 29th August at uk.puma.com and Manchester City club shops.
