EAGLE-EYED Coronation Street fans have noticed that the police officer investigating the factory collapse also buried Hayley Cropper.

Actress Kate Rutter is in the soap playing DS Beckett, who has been probing the factory roof collapse that claimed the life of Rana Habeeb, she has previously appeared in two other roles on the cobbles.

While the storyline kicked off in March, the investigation went on until July before Gary Windass was exposed as the culprit.

In a twist of events though he framed loan shark Rick Neelan for the crime, just weeks after he murdered him in a deadly showdown.

While the detectives have laid off Gary for the meantime, DS Rutter will be back as cops continue their search for missing Rick.

Kate was filmed arresting factory boss Carla King and that lead a fan to realise that she also played a celebrant employed at the funeral of Hayley Cropper.

Her second role on the show was in January 2014.

While it was only a brief role, she certainly made an impact as she featured in some huge and highly emotional scenes.

Kate played Susie Forrester, who met with a dying Hayley Cropper to discuss her funeral.

And a fan wrote on Twitter: “No wonder the investigation is taking so long if the detectives has two jobs.

Hayley had been diagnosed with terminal cancer, and later took her own life.

Susie met with Hayley and a reluctant Roy to speak with her before she passed away, with her also holding the funeral service.

And Kate also played another brief role in 1996, when she played solicitor Jo Marsh whose client was Liz McDonald, with the barmaid asking her to help her get a divorce from husband Jim.
