While Maya tries to wiggle her way out of trouble, fans of the show think her ex Liam and his daughter Leanna – who hates Maya – will have some bombshell evidence which will put her in prison for life.

Last night, Maya’s ex – and Jacob’s dad – David Metcalfe exposed her as a paedophile in The Woolpack, shocking his friends and neighbours.

But as he spoke, Maya’s ex Liam – the village doctor – looked shifty, and it didn’t go unnoticed by viewers.

Taking to Twitter, one wrote: “I think the Doc knows something about Maya #Emmerdale.”

Another added: “Does Liam the DR know something about Maya? His face says it all. #Emmerdale.”

A third agreed, writing: “@emmerdale OOH! Ellis, Liam and Leanna appear to be dropping Maya right in it! Now we just need Liv to confess her blackmail and then it’s curtains! #Emmerdale.”

Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: “Dr Liam looked a bit odd when David announced Maya’s guilt to the pub… has Maya tried it on with Leanna’s boyfriend or something? #emmerdale.”
The grooming storyline has been a major focus for months on the ITV soap, with Maya setting schoolboy Jacob in her sights, despite dating his dad.

The couple were finally caught in the act last month during the soap’s Big Night Out week, when Priya caught them kissing outside a nightclub.

Maya was then kidnapped and attacked by Priya, Tracey and Jacob’s mum Leyla, before David eventually found out.

With Leyla’s help, they bugged a laptop to gather evidence between Maya and Jacob before David confronted her in the lead up to her arrest.

But with Jacob refusing to talk to police about the nature of their relationship, and Maya getting Leyla, Tracey and Priya arrested, will Liam and his daughter be the key to finally getting Maya locked up for life?

It certainly seems like the storyline will eventually come to a concrete conclusion after The Sun revealed Louisa, 40, had quit as evil Maya.

An insider said: “Louisa’s had fans glued to their seats with her brilliant performance.

“They’ve been wondering what the future might hold for Maya and savouring the potential for her to continue to feature.

“But it seems they’ll be disappointed. Her arrest for grooming Jacob spelled the end of a chapter on the soap — for Louisa and Maya.”
