REVEALED: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang won 19 points with his 22 goals for Arsenal this season… but which other Premier League stars had a knack for scoring decisive goals?

  • Aubameyang scored 22 Premier League goals to win Arsenal 19 points
  • Striker had a knack of scoring decisive goals in matches throughout campaign
  • Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic won teams 13 points
  • Paul Pogba won 12 points for Manchester United despite inconsistent form

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang‘s growing importance to Arsenal is underlined by the fact his 22 goals this season yielded 19 of their 70 Premier League points.

The striker claimed a share of the Premier League’s Golden Boot for leading goalscorer and it seems Aubameyang has a knack for scoring decisive goals.

He won Arsenal 19 points over the course of the 36 league matches in which he played including winners against Watford, Cardiff and Bournemouth.

It helped the Gunners to a fifth-place finish in the table and they will hope to qualify for next season’s Champions League by winning next Wednesday’s Europa League final against Chelsea.

Despite his 11 goals winning 13 points, Fulham’s Aleksandar Mitrovic couldn’t do enough to keep them in the top-flight.

Meanwhile, Chelsea’s reluctance to sell Eden Hazard to Real Madrid this summer is explained by the fact his 16 Premier League goals garnered 13 points towards their final tally of 72.

Other players with a talent for scoring important goals include Liverpool’s Sadio Mane, Newcastle’s Salomon Rondon, Brighton’s Glenn Murray and Manchester United’s Paul Pogba, who all won their sides 12 points.

Pogba’s intervention puts him ahead of striker team-mates Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku, who all won United 10 points during a disappointing season.

Murray’s goals for Brighton played a significant role in keeping their Premier League status, even if survival wasn’t enough to keep Chris Hughton in a job.

Diogo Jota proved an influential figure for Wolves, who enjoyed a successful return to the top division. Though he scored only nine goals, they were nearly all of significance as he personally won them 11 points.
