Real Madrid fans vote on transfer targets – and it’s embarrassing for Paul Pogba

Real Madrid supporters have been voting in a poll which asked them which of the club’s transfer targets they most want to see signed – and Paul Pogba came dead last.

Spanish publication AS asked over 160,000 Real supporters to pick between six players who have been strongly linked to the club, with Pogba receiving less than 10 per cent of the votes cast.

Eden Hazard came top of the pile, bringing in 53,700 votes.

Chelsea’s Belgian star is widely expected to move the Bernabeu this summer, with a transfer ready to be tied up shortly after he plays for the Blues against Arsenal in the Europa League final on May 29.

In second place was the Eintracht Frankfurt forward Luka Jovic, who is believed to have agreed terms on a £52.4million move to Madrid following a stellar season in the Bundesliga.

Tottenham star Christian Eriksen was third with 25,300 votes, with AS claiming that the Dane can usurp Luka Modric in the Real midfield.

However they also note the notoriously hard bargaining of Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who they say is capable of taking negotiations “right down to the transfer window wire” as he did with Modric and Gareth Bale when they joined Real.

Eriksen and Hazard also feature in the list

Eden Hazard – 53,700 votes

Luka Jovic – 34,700

Christian Eriksen – 25,300

Neymar – 16,900

Tanguy Ndombele – 16,400

Paul Pogba – 13,800

Neymar only comes in fourth in the vote with just 500 votes more than Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, who AS say “is a player expressly requested by Zinedine Zidane.”

Pogba then comes in trailing in sixth place with 13,800 votes, with AS conceding that he “is a signing that won’t be easy to get over the line.”

The Frenchman is believed to want the Bernabeu move in order to ink up with Zidane, but United don’t want to lose him.
